The first thing you should have is a writer whose writings you would edit. When there is no writer, there is no editor. How to become an editor when yoh have nothing to edit? If you are not even an editor, then how to be a garang editor.
The second basic needs of being a garang editor is to make sure that the writer submit his/her writing right on time. If they don’t make it then threat them to send the writing ASAP. Oh, I think it should not be ASAP but you better say “Hand in right now!”
Third, ask for the writing a few days before the dateline you agreed before. This is to make sure that s/he know what it meant for having a garang editor.
If the writer says that you are not demanding enough, send him more work to complete and make sure he send it back to you two days before the dateline.
